Is Drop The Lime’s Chicago house-inspired alias, under which he’s released some sick jams for France’s Institubes label (alongside Para One, Teki Latex, and Surkin). “What I Need” is Curses! infamous and oft-requested first hit, which defined the Trouble & Bass sound with its dramatic chopped-up and pitch-screwed R&B vocals, punchy subs, and wobbly bass chaos. It’s backed with a VIP from the brain himself (a more stripped-down, grime-influenced drum workout), and a bouncy 4/4 banger from London’s bassline godfather Dexplicit.
