Original Trouble & Bass member Math Head (who now operates in the neo-goth projects Passions and Vivian Alive) offers up his first EP for the label, cementing the subterranean bass and moody synth lines that have become his trademark. “Do Damage” prefigures the dubstep craze with its halftime boom-clack and all flavors of low-end trickery, while Passions (Math Head’s noisier, more rock-influenced alias) combines drilling synths and spraycan shakes before breaking unexpectedly into uplifting piano-house territory. “Drop It” is all round low-end, “Drop It” samples, and darkcore stabs to bump in the lowrider on the ride to Hades, with a Drop The Lime Dynasty of Fury remix straight from the depths of hell, where it’s been partying with the ghost of Doc Scott and the Dominator.
