SCION PRESENTS TROUBLE & BASS: SOUNDS OF NYC
Since forming in 2006, the Trouble & Bass crew has been synonymous with heavy bass music in the city that never sleeps. But to think we’re keeping to ourselves couldn’t be farther from the truth—our music and our way of life is continually inspired by collaborating with our musical neighbors in Brooklyn and beyond. Whether we’re up in the club, romping through the city streets, or chilling at our klubhaus next to the East River, we’re in constant contact with a pool of ultra-talented and inspiring DJs, producers, visual artists, and record labels from so many different scenes. For this project, we called up five of our coolest friends from around the way and asked them to create exclusive tracks based on the magical place we call home. Along the way, you’ll find out what makes various NYC neighborhoods tick: T&B label head Drop the Lime reps for Williamsburg and his native Tribeca; tropical house band Cubic Zirconia keeps the East Village on lock; Kingdom astrally projects between Queens and Greenpoint; Michna keeps it real in Downtown Brooklyn; and Hussle Club takes the pulse of the Lower East Side. SINDEN SINDEN SINDEN
This Saturday our main man Sinden will be joining us, actually, for the first time! We were supposed to have him play for us in February at No Escape From NY, but unfortunately, his flight was cancelled cause of the snow storm. So he's coming back! He'll be joined by Zombies For Money, New Trouble & Bass signee's, and T&B Crew's Drop The Lime, Star Eyes and The Captain!

Sinden
Straddling a bass heavy club sound that also encompasses leftfield rock music and global beats, Sinden is renowned for his genre-blending DJ sets, cracklin’ hot radio show, his banging remixes, and for being the Sinden in hotly tipped ‘The Count & Sinden’ and, alongside Herve. His DJ career sees him criss-crossing the globe turning clubs on their heads with his fresh, eclectic sound, and throwing Count & Sinden’s Mega Warehouse parties in the UK. He had recently begun a column in the UK’s DJ magazine, and he’s also known for his lauded show groundbreaking UK radio station Kiss FM. Sinden’s show on Kiss was the first of its kind to host an eclectic selection of music that includes Funk Carioca, Baltimore Club, Kuduro, Juke House, Southern Hip Hop, Dancehall, House/Electro and much much more.
Having the radio show and the column keeps Sinden one step ahead of the game when it comes to finding new music, and he brings this taste-making approach to his productions. Sinden began making his own music around the time he forged a friendship with Dave “Switch” Taylor and was taken under his wing to learn the production game. Together they began to create progressive hip-hop, dancehall beats and other unclassifiable rhythms. Testing the water with his remixes of other artists has led to an impressive, diverse reel which includes mixes of Miike Snow, Jack Splash, Robbie Williams, Basement Jaxx, Bjork, Mujava, Armand van Helden and Mark Ronson, to name a few.
Sinden has also announced the launch of his own label, Grizzly, which will feature more of the amazing sounds we’ve come to expect from him. First releases in Spring 2010 include a collaboration with SBTRKT, a new EP from Brodinski, and WAFA, a solo project from the drummer in Basement Jaxx. Stay tuned!
