Our guests for this month include MRK1 (Planet MuPlay MeHench, Manchester, UK) and B. Rich (Party Like Us, Pittsburgh) and resident The Captain! MRK1


Mark Foster, known as MRK1 (formerly Markone or Mark One), is a dubstep and grime producer from Manchester, England, originally a drum n bass artist. He is known especially for his work with the Virus Syndicate, including MCs Goldfinger and Nika D, which he produces and provides instrumental tracks for, and his fusion of both genres. He has worked with Trim (from the Roll Deep crew), Jammer, Ears, Poet Shado, and Flirta D. He is currently signed to Planet µ records. He has appeared in Mixmag magazine, and was nominated as “Best Grime” producer at the 2003 Sidewinder awards. MRK1 has also appeared on Science Faction: Dubstep (as Mark One), a notable dubstep compilation which featured artists such as Loefah, Distance, Pinch, Search and Destroy, DJ Hatcha, and Benga.

B. Rich (aka Barrett Richards aka Kastle) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is one of America's welcome purveyors of bass-heavy club music. After growing up with a love of hip hop he got into producing and DJ at a young age while being influenced by early 90s rave and dance artists such as Moby, Altern-8 and The Prodigy. Now with over 15 years of experience he is performing regularly throughout North America with one European tour under his belt and a full on World Tour later this year.

And then Saturday we're taking the whole party to U Street Music Hall in Washington DC for part of the Forward Fest (and our first weekend Trouble & Bass in DC)! We've just got back from Austin and Miami, but we're not finished yet! For those of you who didn't make it to Austin or Miami, come check out some of the best DJ's from both festivals coming to NYC and DC!
