The Return of Curses!

Some may remember the infamous Parisian label, Institubes from a few years back. Para One, Surkin, Das Glow, Bobmo, and Curses! were just a few of the hard hitting house acts. After a long hibernation since 2008, and just in time for the apocalypse, Curses! returns to play a 3 hour set at Night People, Le Bain at The Standard Hotel - 848 Washington Street, NYC.

Here is a new mix of all dark deep house and techno vibes, including one of my latest songs "911", coming out in 2013.

Artist Spotlight: Drop The Lime

And here we go with the home team for our 6 year anniversary celebration. No one could be more apt to start with the man himself, Drop The Lime. Behind the decks or behind a mic, this guy knows how to do it right.

Speaking of, here's his down n dirty video for Bandit Blues:

On the flipside, his most recent mix is forty minutes of floor packing beats, to celebrate Takeovr's 3 year anniversary:

Don't forget to check out the entire "Enter the Night" album, that dropped this summer.

Check out the rest of the lineup we have in store.

Bio: Drop the Lime, Luca Venezia, is one of those people whose identity is intrinsically connected to his hometown – New York City. Drop The Lime’s influences range from Brian Eno to rockabilly to Sonic Youth to Wu-Tang. Since 2006, he has also run Trouble & Bass, an influential New York club night and record label that is defining the new sound of New York, one heavy bassline at a time.

DTL's Top Class Drinks #1

As the tight-tied part of the week draws to a close, I'd like to treat each of you to a new weekly feature, where I share some of my favorite drinks from near and far.

For the first round, I thought I'd throw in a bit of bar trivia. The above pic features refreshments from NYC's own Painkiller, which is well worth paying a visit to. As for what's in those cups, well, you have to do a little sleuthing and tell me. If you guess right, maybe I'll just buy you one...

Until next time

VIDEO: Carrie Wilds - Stay feat. Mr. Muthafuckin eXquire

Today, Noisey (Music by Vice) debuted the much anticipated Carrie Wilds video for her song "Stay". What they had to say about the video "We got our hands on the brand new video from Мишка Records newcomer Carrie Wilds. The Brooklyn-based songstress is the first female solo act on their roster and her self-titled mixtape is set for release on June 19th. "Stay" is Wilds' distinctive version of the doo wop classic by the Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs, with labelmate Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire dropping in to deliver his own experimental flair and Montreal beatmaker Lunice lending his searing production skills."

Check out the video and keep an ear out for the drop of her mixtape next week over at the Mishka Bloglin!

Royal-T @ Trouble & Bass Philly June 21st + Brooklyn 22nd

Butterz' barely legal bad man Royal-T first caught our ears with his bonkers videogame grime release "1UP" on No Hats No Hoods and since then he's mowed down the dance with the electro fire of "Orangeade", classic two-step garage remixes of Katy B and TRC, and the simply massive "Inside the Ride" for Rinse.

Talented at any style he tries his hand at, Royal's bound to be a superstar - check him now, as he presents plenty of exclusives he made just for NYC. Also, listen to his mixes for Mishka NYC and the Butterz 2-Year Anniversary.
