MIX: JOHNNY JEWEL - LET'S KISS / SUNDAY MORNING MIX

If you're like us, you've been running the night all weekend, and could stand to ease a bit into the sabbath. We don't think there's a better way to sit back with a coffee and stiff drink than this mix Johnny Jewel recently dropped. It's a 45 minute experiment in retro sounds. While it swims through the synth arena, there are plenty of non-electronic tracks as well, and with artists like Tangerine Dream, Nico, and Trisomie 21, it's just what we're looking for on this fine Sunday.

PLASTICIAN - RETRO

Next week we'll be releasing a special T&B VIP Compilation containing 7 tunes. So up until the day of the release we'll be streaming the tunes on our blog and shedding a little light on the story behind each tune, kinda like 'Behind the Music'. Just a little anecdote from each producer!

This is what Plastician had to say about 'Retro':

"I'm glad to see this track finally see light of day, I actually made the track originally about 4 years ago, and left it unfinished until 2011. I was playing it out as a looped up 2 minute long track for years! I wanted to create an old school sound with old school techniques. The entire track is made up of one shot samples. Not a single virtual or hardware synth was used to make it, just pure automation on the drum map, with only a little bit of after effects like reverb and delay. What I ended up with was something between 2004 grime and 1994 rave. Splendid
