T&B WINS RBMA CULTURE CLASH NYC 2013

Last Monday, Red Bull Music Academy asked us if we could fill the hefty shoes of Fool's Gold, who had bowed out of the Culture Clash. Of course, we accepted. We were honored to be asked and able to represent Heavy Bass music in NYC. Leading up to the Culture Clash, we worked our butts off for nine days.

This brings us to last night, which was very magical for us. Up against the other amazing crews—Federation Sound, Que Bajo, and Just Blaze & Young Guru—we managed to overcome and win all three rounds of the clash! Our sets featured special performances from Robin S singing "Show Me Love", Cam'Ron doing "Salute" and "I Really Mean It", Nina Sky singing "Oy Mi Canto" and "Move Ya Body", The Flatbush Zombies performing "S.C.O.S.A." Plus, Dave Nada came up from DC (by way of L.A.) to ace our “tropical” round and we had Rafael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle dancing and delivering pizza.

Big ups to our MC for the night, Telli from Ninjasonik, our dancer and bad gyal Annie Rush, and Rich Chychota, Shorty, Andres and all the guys at Blkmarket for our bad-ass SBS Sound System. Thanks to James Mulry for building us a dope coffin, the band Lemonade for letting us borrow their van, and Andy Cat for helping us have a cat rave at the Smorgasburg/Record Fair. Big shout out to all the other crews, Miss Info for being an amazing host and Red Bull Music Academy for having us. And most importantly thank you to all the NYC troublemakers who came through to support, wore T&B shirts, screamed your heads off, popped off airhorns and gave us this huge win. We couldn't have done it without you!!
